Disabling Hand Gesture Reactions (Apple Devices)

If you have a Mac, please keep note of the following:

MacOS Sonoma, the most recent Mac software update, has come out with a new feature that enables reactions based upon hand gestures you may use during a video call. This feature is enabled for FaceTime, but also integrates with Google Meets, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.

To see if this feature is enabled on your Mac, activate your camera by joining a video call. Open the Video menu, the bright green button with a white camera, on the main macOS navigation bar. On the menu, if the Reactions button is illuminated green, then the hand gesture reactions are enabled on your device. To disable this feature, simply click the Reactions button so that it is no longer illuminated:

If this feature is enabled on your Mac computer and you are using any of the following hand gestures during your Marvin session, you may experience a reaction on your screen:

We encourage you to disable this feature when joining Marvin sessions, as any of the hand gestures made above may result in reactions that are distracting and not pertinent to the session itself.

If you do not have a Mac computer, you may disregard this notice.
